We’re pleased to announce the Niagara Historical Society (the NOTL Museum) as our 2025 “Living Landmark”.
The honour, given annually to a person or group demonstrating an outstanding contribution to quality of life in Niagara, aligns with The Niagara Foundation’s particular focus on preserving culture and heritage.

“We can’t think of a more fitting organization as our 20th Living Landmark,” said Lyle Hall, Chair of The Niagara Foundation. “The Historical Society is not only a guardian of our rich local history — The Museum and its staff are the stewards of stories, artifacts, and a digital collection that play a major role in the development of Canada.”
“We’re honoured to be among the voices that promote and preserve the history, traditions and culture of Niagara,” said Susan May Wery, Chair, Niagara-on-the-Lake Museum Board. “Celebrating our 130th year, our programmes and Museum space continue to expand, but our vision remains true to what it was in 1895 — to provide an experience that connects and engages people with the past.”
The award presentation dinner will take place on November 15, 2025, at Navy Hall — a national historic site in Niagara-on-the-Lake — with tickets available through The Foundation in early Fall.
